The heart pearl is a type of baroque pearl, which is a nucleated pearl. This kind of pearls are usually formed when a pearl farmer implants a nucleus into a pearl mussel shell and cultures it for 3-5 years.

Since pearls are a natural product, they may have minor imperfections such as threads, growth lines, white spots, etc., unless specifically stated as flawless grade.
